Comfortable if slightly soulless hotel. Good size rooms, satisfactory food, decent full English breakfast with vegetarian sausages for non meat eaters. Recently modernised, and comfortable to stay in.
One star is being over generous. Had buffet for work Xmas Party and had to buy some food before I went home. There were pigs in blankets, spare ribs, very small spring rolls along with samosa, tiny pastry morsels, dry stuffing balls, tuna sandwiches along with egg sandwiches made from cheap white bread.There were no labels to identify what was on offer.I was hoping that at least they could save themselves with dessert, but no dessert!!!This was on a Sunday night, and wished I had eaten my roast dinner before I left home.This isn't the first time I have eaten here as I had a cream tea earlier in the year which was also very disappointing.They may have changed their name but sadly the quality of the food hasn't changed. There are many hotels in Bournemouth to choose from and I certainly wouldn't recommend this one to anybody. I certainly don't feel that I got even half of my money's worth and look forward to hearing back from Management
The spa is nice. The whirlpool could do with being warmer and the changing rooms need attention. When someone opens the male changing room door you can see the changing area. Luckily I was the only bloke. We had afternoon tea which was very nice. Unlimited tea and coffee with very helpful and friendly staff.
The West cliff is definitely more suited as a conference hotel but the spa is very popular. Conference rooms are large enough for the small or medium business to book out. Food provided has been very enjoyable. Bar and garden areas a lovely and spacious. Can't comment on the rooms as I've never stayed.
Had two rooms completely different sizes yet cost the same per night. No discount given for child. Staff friendly. Rooms clean. Bathroom lacks hooks for towels and no hooks for coats. Bed comfortable. Pool and gym hygienic. The very tall gent in leisure area is friendly and helpful. Bournemouth was a fun holiday destination with loads of young people. All in all a nice break.
