Great location for the centre of Bournemouth. Walls are very thin, good selection for breakfast, good veggie options. Although on the second morning it was cold...
Just had a 4 night stay here on a murder mystery week with SAGA, send all geriatrics away and, I have to say it was very clean, comfortably warm and cosy, excellent quality food on the evening set menu and breakfast buffet, superb staff training which demonstrated itself in outstanding attentive customer service throughout the hotel.In spite of the few armchair whingers reviews, I say thank you and very well done to the staff and management, I've stayed in a lot of mediocre hotels, but this little gem beats a lot of multi-star ones hands down.
Really quite a poor experience from accommodation to food and hospitality. Meeting room hired and maintenance were banging up a roof for most of the day. Quite distracting. Room had exposed wires and no working shower.Staff really didn't seem to care Save the pain and buy a tent rather than stay here
Really enjoyed our stay. Staff are lovely...dinner was great. Bedroom and bed was a little small but all clean and bathroom lovely too. Had lovely fresh warm scones cream and jam....lovely. thank you
Eleven of our family gathered for Christmas dinner at the Cumberland, service was initially brisk, the starter was very nice. A good start that sadly slowed to a crawl as one or two of the waitress tried hard to satisfy our needs and were attentive. But for whatever reason the time between courses was too long and after a number of enquiries no satisfactory reason for the delay was offered. It is sad that just because it is a busy time of year it seems the level of expected service was sadly lacking. With just a little extra effort this could have been a much nicer experience. More attention given to the level of standards by the hotel management, who seemed absent, would have allowed for more efficient running between kitchen and table. I feel disappointed that the expectations we all had were not met and we left feeling disappointed.
