The fish soup was tasty but croutons hard. I asked for more but they were hard too. The lamb roast Sunday lunch was a bit of a disappointment. The meat was bland, like the carrots and cabbage, and the cauliflower cheese only mildly cheesy. IMO only a hollow brain would think that cottage or shepherds pie has any place on a Sunday roast dish. The illy expresso was weak and slightly bitter. Call me old fashioned and unsophisticated for these remarks, but give me a restaurant with tablecloths and traditional food anytime to these places springing up. The restaurant before at the Highcliff hotel had far more class than the Brasserie Blanc. I'm sorry if these remarks offend the impressionable who think the place is wonderful.

Yes this is fast becoming a real favourite of mine. Great views great service and such consistent quality food. This is a bit of a hidden gem set on the West Cliff that for some can seem a bit off the beaten track . OK the Brasserie Blancs are a chain but a chain that serves up high quality time and time again, something many of the celebrity chefs cannot manage with their restaurant estates. Add a great setting and its a great choice. Expect to pay around 90 including a bottle of wine

Had dinner there Sunday night, breakfast Monday morning,(restaurant)The Lady who served us Sunday night was brilliant at customer service, very polite, infectious smile. The food was excellent,if a little bit slow.. the plates were not that warm as expected, so food cooled quicker.Breakfast was of a very high quality but a bit pricey.Just one suggestion, the music was awful and too loud.Need something more relaxing....or no music.

In general I would say this restaurant should have a 4 star rating. However based on my experience it is only a 3 star. On first impressions the ambience, service and food were of a high quality. The location and view from the terrace overlooking the sea is lovely.Unfortunately, the grilled cod mains were not cooked properly (both the cod and squid were undercooked) and had to be returned. Upon complaining to the waiter he was very dismissive and said we needed to speak to the manager. There was quite a long wait for one of the two replacement meals to be served. I am pleased to say the replacement meals were cooked properly and deducted from the bill.I will try again and I hope to be able to up the rating.

I like the food in here. The decor & ambience is warm/relaxing with a nautical theme. Service is usually always friendly, polite & professional. I've had the fish and chips, bass & homemade burger from here which have all been very tasty indeed. It has calming views out to the sea & if it's a sunny day, then it's certainly worth getting a table out on the terrace. It is more expensive then your typical restaurant but you get what you pay for.
